Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left behind as his large, upper-middle-class suburban family rushes to catch a plane for their Christmas vacation in France. Initially, Kevin relishes his newfound freedom, indulging in junk food and late-night horror movies. However, his joy turns to concern when the bumbling Wet Bandits, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), target his home for a robbery. Kevin rises to the challenge, defending his house with a series of ingenious booby traps. Through his adventure, Kevin learns the true importance of family, culminating in a heartwarming reunion. The film’s original score, which was nominated for an Academy Award, adds to the magic of this holiday classic.
